ABC News NBA Game 5 ratings skyrocketed on viewership of the NBA finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat.

It took five games for the Spurs to trod on Miami. The ABC News NBA Game 5 averaged 15.5 million viewers while 18 million saw the final NBA Game 5 match when Spurs clinched the title on Sunday. In 2013, those figures averaged 17.7 million between two games. However, last year the games reached a 7-game limit. Comparing five games, this year's five-game series topped last year's five games on average.

The NBA led ABC to a skyrocketing lead in prime team TV, averaging 7.8 million views in a week."NBC had 5.1 million, CBS had 5 million, Univision had 3 million, Fox had 2.8 million, Telemundo had 1.4 million, ION Television had 1.1 million and the CW had 950,000." ABC news reports.

"NBA Finals: Miami vs. San Antonio, Game 5, ABC, 18 million; NBA Finals: San Antonio vs. Miami, Game 4, ABC, 14.96 million; NBA Finals: San Antonio vs. Miami, Game 3, ABC, 14.78 million; "America's Got Talent" (Tuesday), NBC, 11.54 million; "The Big Bang Theory," CBS, 8.37 million; "NCIS," CBS, 8.07 million; "60 Minutes," CBS, 7.45 million; "Game of Thrones," HBO, 7.09 million; "Night Shift," NBC, 6.7 million; "NCIS: Los Angeles," CBS, 6.58 million," WashingtonPost reports.
