Crayon Shin Chan

Relive your childhood memories as one of the most popular anime from the 1990's, Crayon Shin Chan, might be getting a movie adaptation!

Rumors of a movie adaptation went viral when a poster of Crayon Shin Chan and his friends illustrated as grown-ups surfaced online (see photo above). Anime forum sites were frantic for confirmation and asked Shin-Ei Animation, the anime's producer for any updates. However, they were unsuccessful in their attempt.

According To Anime News Authority, a renowned source for anime news in Japan, a movie adaptation is actually being discussed but details are yet to be disclosed.

When the creator of Crayon Shin Chan, Yoshito Usui, was asked for further details, he declined to give any statements.

Crayon Shin Chan is one of the most popular in Japan for its crazy antics and silly humor. It follows the adventures of the five-year-old Shinnosuke "Shin" Nohara, who is a brutally honest, highly curious, and has no shame type of character. He is joined by his parents, baby sister, dog, neighbours, and friends and is set in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture. An anime adaptation of the series began airing on TV in 1992, and continues to this day. As a testament to its massive popularity, the show has now been dubbed in Danish, English, Dutch, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Galician, Catalan, Basque, Polish, Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Hebrew, Telugu, Tamil, Tagalog, Indonesian, Malay, Khmer, Thai and Vietnamese.
