Two heavily rumored upcoming smartphones are expected to make history this fall. Although no official images have been released yet, a number of leaked photos and specs are now emerging online, giving mobile fanatics slight hints on which one is really the better smartphone.

Apple will release iPhone 6 on the 19th of September, while Nexus 6 will allegedly come out in October or November this year. Techies had high hopes of getting more definite details about the Android phone during the Google I/O 2014 conference, but there has been no news on the device so far. Instead Google focused on the successor of Android Kitkat - the Android L Lollipop also known as Android 5.0.

Going back to the abstract of the rumoured specs and features, here are some things that you should consider:

Displays

Unlike the Nexus 6, iPhone will be available in two sizes: 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches display. The android phone will stick with the 5.5 inch model, as it renders an impressive resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, with a density of 534 ppi. The iPhone 6's 4.7 inch full HD display will support 1080 x 1920 pixels, 416 ppi, while the 5.5 inch phablet is rumored to have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 401 ppi.

Shall these forecasts remain true, then Nexus 6 clearly wins in this aspect. Besides its only rival when it comes to the unique 2k screen resolution is the LG G3.

Hardware and OS

As per International Business Times, Nexus 6 will be powered by a quad core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 805) Krait 450 processor, set at 2.7 GHz while the iPhone 6 will come with a 2.6Ghz quad-core Apple A8 chipset, clocked at 2.6 GHz. Nexus is rumored to run on Android L or Android 4.5 OS, whereas the iPhone 6 will run on Apple's latest iOS 8.

The android device will be available in 16 and 32 GB internal memories while the iPhone 6 will carry 32 or 64 GB on internal storage, without microSD card support. It has been buzzed that the newest apple phone will include the 128 GB variant, hence kicking out the 16 GB model.

Battery Life

Nexus 6 is reported to come with a 3100 mAh battery which is significantly higher than iPhone's capacity between 1700 mAh and 2000 mAh.

Camera

As per AppleInsider, both variants of iPhone 6 might use a Sony-manufactured 8 megapixel sensor. For the 4.7 in model, Apple is rumored to be installing the latest "middle-mount open-loop voice coil motor" to control its camera, which should allow faster and more accurate focusing without consuming too much power. On the other hand, Nexus 6 is expected to come with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

Special features

Allegedly both smartphones will support NFC and fingerprint scanners. According to PC Advisor, Nexus 6 will be water and dust resistant since it is IP67 certified.

Design

The iPhone 6 body will be made of anodized aluminum, along with sapphire glass, giving it a premium look. Nexus 6 is said to have aluminum edges and thin bezel as compared to its predecessors' plastic exteriors.

Price

According to 91 Mobiles, Nexus 6 will be priced at $655, generally cheaper than iPhone 4.7 inch 32 GB model that will cost $846. Meanwhile its 64 GB variant will cost $1008.
