New updates have been revealed in Sony’s new zombie themed video game, H1Z1.

H1Z1 is an upcoming Massively Multiplayer Online Game developed by Sony Online Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and for the PC. The game is set in the United States during a zombie apocalypse were in players will have to interact with the resources in the world to survive, build shelters, and craft weapons against zombies.

The game is stated to be released in the late 2014, but video game website Cyberland has reported that H1Z1 will be available sometime in the fall of 2014 and gamers might expect it on October or November this year. It is still unclear whether the game will be shipped first for the PC, PS4 or possibly both at the same time.

Meanwhile a new gameplay of H1Z1 has been revealed.

The video features a commentary from H1Z1 game designer Jimmy Whisenhunt as he explains what H1 Z1 is all about.
Whisenhunt explains how important crafting materials as players must search for whatever objects laying around the are that can be useful in given situations. Players can create weapons to fend off zombies or build safe houses for you or with other players within the game.

In addition, Sony Online Entertainment published a new breakdown of the various goals that the dev team says they'd like to meet before SOE president John Smedley gives the go-ahead to release H1Z1 via Steam Early Access.

The update was authored by H1Z1 technical director Tom Schenck, who oversees the various coders working on H1Z1, and includes updates on everything from planned launch features to the biggest bugs standing between the H1Z1 dev team and a build of the game that's ready for public consumption. It's an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the development process, and one which should appease the thousands of curious gamers whose demands for an Early Access release date make it almost impossible for H1Z1 supporters to converse with one another during SOE live stream.
