Queen And Adam Lambert Tour: 'Trespassing' Singer Talks About Sparkly Crowns, Singing Freddie Mercury's Solo And Possible Albums With Legendary Group

With the Queen and Adam Lambert tour wrapping up its North American leg, the "American Idol" runner up revealed his thoughts on the pressures of making Freddie Mercury proud and future plans for an album.

The "Trespassing" singer is currently shuffling between his joint concert with the legendary rock group and recording for his new album. He will reportedly release a new album next year.

When asked if he and Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor plan to release a joint album following the very successful concert tour, Lambert humbly said that he doesn't know, because "you can never say never at this point."

The "For Your Entertainment" singer also adds, "So I'm sure if it's the right thing and we all feel like it's the right time, the right song or whatever, it could happen. It's not really in the mix yet, right now."

With his theatrical background and outstanding stage presence, Lambert has been winning over Queen fans through the concert series. However, some Queen purists gave him a hard time for trying too hard to fill in Freddie Mercury's gigantic shoes-especially with the sparkly crown that he wore on-stage.

"I'm sure there's a lot of symbolism in it. I just kind of thought, 'The band is Queen, I should get a crown!'" The 32-year-old hitmaker told Yahoo Music. "Freddie came onstage famously with a cloak, like a cape and crown, at one point, and I just thought that was so camp and ridiculous and hilarious, so I wanted to do it too... although my crown is a little sparklier."

When it comes to being compared to the legend himself, the "Whataya Want From Me" singer admitted that he felt the pressure when he sang Mercury's solo song, "Love Kills."

Added to the fact that the original Queen frontman never got the chance to perform the song live, Lambert felt the task more daunting than taking on the band's classic songs.

He did enjoy doing the solo though, adding "...that was also the exciting thing about it-that it's harder to compare that one, as opposed to me singing 'Who Wants to Live Forever,' where you can listen to the original of that and go, 'Well, Freddie's amazing...'"

Lambert is currently campaigning for AT&T's "Live Proud" project before heading off to Australia and New Zealand to continue the Queen And Adam Lambert tour.
