Deus Ex Movie Adaptation In The Works; Predators Writer Michael Finch Gets On Board To Pen The Screenplay For The Acclaimed Video Game
A "Deus Ex" movie adaptation is reportedly in the pipeline, as CBS films gets Predators writer Michael Finch on board to pen the story for the movie adaptation.
As reported by joblo.com, the screenplay would be based primarily on the "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" game. Set in 2027, the plot revolves around Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT security specialist who underwent a radical life-saving procedure that involved mechanical enhancements.
His adventure begins when he uncovers a global conspiracy - and the action along with the compelling politics involved in his struggle is what would keep fans at the edge of their seats when Finch adapts his tale for the movie version.
Hollywoodreporter.com said that prior to Finch, C.Robert Cargill and Scott Derrickson were the first ones to work on the script for the "Deus Ex" movie adaptation. Derrickson was first tasked to direct it, but now he is concentrating on "Doctor Strange" for Marvel. On the other hand, Middleton is executively producing "Deus Ex."
As for Finch's credibility in bringing the game to life on the screen, joblo.com divulged that this is not the first time the writer has done a screenplay for a game.
He also wrote the "Agent 47" script inspired by the Hitman games. Entitled "Hitman: Agent 47," the movie version of the video game stars Rupert Friend. It is scheduled to hit the cinemas on February 27, 2015.
Wikifiles revealed that "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" received accolades upon its release. Developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Ennix, the action role-playing video game has an edgy cyberpunk theme. It was originally created for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 and was introduced to the public in August 2011.
Viewers were particularly drawn to the game's open-ended premise. They were also amused with the amount of social interaction involved in the resulting events that unfolded in the game.
