"American Idol" season 14 continued its series of live auditions this week!

The "American Idol" Season 14 auditions met long lines of nervous hopefuls in Kansas City, Missouri and Long Island, New York.

According to the Kansas City Star, the American Idol Bus drove into the city on the early morning of July 21. Long lines of possible future singers graced the University Of Missouri - Kansas City's Volker Campus where auditions were held.

The Bus stayed in the unversity from 9AM to 5PM in the blistering heat, reports the Kansas City Star.

"We're excited American Idol contacted us with this unique and fun opportunity," UMKC Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Mel Tyler, said in a statement to the Star.

In Long Island, several hundred wannabe stars lined up as early as 4AM on July 23 at the Nassau Coliseum for a chance at a golden ticket to Hollywood.

"We're looking for people that make us say 'Wow!' We want to see people that impress us," Producer Patrick Lynn told News 12 Long Island about the "American Idol" Season 14 auditions.

Fox Network CEO and chairman Peter Rice recently shared his sentiment about the long-running audition program to reporters. He lamented the fact that in the past two years, the show has not found contestants who "captured the imagination of the public."

"They've been really talented kids, but for whatever reason there hasn't been that sort of catalyst behind the show," Rice added.

Fox would most likely be more strict for these "Americnan Idol" season 14 auditions.

The American Idol Bus dropped by New Orleans on June 25 at the Lakefront Arena, University of New Orleans. It will also drive to Nashville on July 30 and meet auctioneers at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. The last stop would be the Cow Palace in San Francisco on September 29.

Season 14 is set to air in 2015.
