Is Season 6 the last run for The Vampire Diaries?

The popular TV drama showed off during the 2014 Comic-Con the emotional season 5 finale with a twist of humor.

So what is the teaser all about?

In the first scene, you can see Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) in the place called purgatory(?) With this scene, the questions are how and when the duo will return to Mystic Falls.

But instead, it leaves the audience hanging with dozens of more questions during the 45-minute Saturday afternoon session, as the CW vampire drama debuted a spoof dealing with just that subject.

In the video, the two casts ask the questions : "What just happened?" "Did we just get written off?" Somerhalder had the funniest line when he cited his past experience getting killed off on Lost: "I was killed off a TV show before but this wasn't how they did it."

Somerhalder spilled a joke in the video "life evolves" and "we evolve as people." "Change is good.".

Damon and Bonnie also joked in the video that they will create their own show. But in the end, the two characters said that the possible next season is in the hands of their fans.

Just like previously, many are still wondering if TVD season 6 will be the last. This time why again?

According to WetPaint, one of the reason why there's a speculation that season 6 will be the last as the cast of TVD is only signed through Season 6. Meaning, major casts like Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, and Ian Somerhalder need to sign new contracts towards the end of the sixth season, and possibly negotiate new salaries.

As of now, the prod of this TV drama is not giving any statement regarding this. So as fans, all you can do is to wait for the update.
