In keeping with its dark plot "Triangle" did not end happily for all the characters. But that was appropriate and a happy ending would not have been true to the tragic story of three brothers who suffered after they were separated in childhood.

Spoiler alert: If you have not yet seen the end of this drama, don't read any further. It was inevitable with all the attempts to kill the three brothers that one of them would not make it to the finale. And it's not the brother viewers might have imagined at the drama's beginning. While this pointless death will forever haunt the remaining two brothers, it does help end the long criminal career of the drama's too villains Go Bok Tae and President Yoon. And that resolution brings some peace. It also gives the remaining brothers a chance at the life they might have had if their father had not been murdered. In the last minutes the dark drama delivered a hopeful message about the redeeming power of love.

And curiosity about the drama's resolution earned it first place in the ratings. Like the character Heo Yong Dal, played by JYJ's Kim Jaejoong, the show started at the bottom of the ratings and persevered until it reached first place. The last episode finished with 10.5 percent in the ratings.

The drama will be followed next week by "The Night Watchmen," starring Jung Il Woo, U-Know Yunho and Ko Sung Hee.

"Temptation," the story of a tempting offer that threatens to tear apart a marriage, reached second place with 8.9 percent of the ratings. Kwon Sang Woo's acceptance of Choi Ji Woo's offer to buy his unspecified services for a few days caused a rift in the marriage between his character and his wife, played by Park Ha Sun. Meanwhile she has temptations of her own. The man who hired her to care for his child, played by Lee Jung Jin, is a player but he seems to be developing real feelings for her.

Not far behind was the comedy "Trot Lovers," starring Ji Hyun Woo, Jung Eun Ji and Shin Sung Rok. That drama rated 8.2 percent in the ratings. The drama pulled out the amnesia card this week. Ji Hyun Woo's character and Jung Eun Ji's were a cute couple until he was injured trying to save her from a stage set pushed over by her rival, played by Lee Se Young. That injury caused him a kind of amnesia where he could not remember ever meeting Jung Eun Ji, let alone managing her or dating her.
