With production already in progress for 'American Idol' season 14, returning judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr and eternal host Ryan Seacrest expressed their excitement and thoughts on what the show will offer next year.

"I think that the core of the show will stay consistent (to) what we've been doing for so many years," Seacrest told reporters according to CMT News.

With three years as an 'Idol' judge under his belt, Urban shared his favourite part of the whole process-the awesome auditions. Meeting someone with tremendous talent is "the best part of this job."

The production team stopped by Nashville-where Urban currently lives-on August 4 to hold its second to the last live auditions. 'Idol' will then take some weeks off before ending the live audition series in San Francisco on September 29.

"In the end, I just love great talent," the four-time Grammy winner admitted. "I love ... discovering great talent. Whether it's somebody who hips me to a new artist or whether it's someone who just walks through the door and you're just sitting there going, 'Aw, wow. This is exactly what it's about.'"

Harry Connick, Jr shared his 20-plus years of experience in the entertainment industry last season and he plans to continue helping new contestants for 'American Idol' season 14.

"We're all entertainers, and we all intimately understand what goes into having a long career in this business," he said, "And I think for the young performers who wanna listen, I think it may be helpful to them."

Jennifer Lopez thinks that to become an effective judge for 'Idol,' passion should be present when meeting new faces and seeing fresh talent.

"I think any successful judge really loves music first and foremost," she explained, "They love talking about it, they love sharing what they know about it, and just that love, that passion, is what I think really makes a great judge. Somebody who just doesn't take it for granted, that truly is in love with it."

'American Idol' season 14 will start airing in 2015.
