Baby Metal performs with Lady Gaga!

Baby Metal is composed of three young Japanese girls (average age is 15). The J-pop/Rock band is well-known for their single "Gimme Chocolate" and they have been very busy with their tour schedule in Europe and even in Japan.

The trio described their genre as "cute metal" or in Japanesse, Kawaii metal (they mentioned it during an interview in Sonisphere).

Aside from their famous single "Gimme Chocolate" (which has mix of dance moves), "Head Bangya!" is another single and music video to check out. LAWeekly described its music video as "audio/visual assaults on every sense, with imagery and production that are as if cartoon metallers Dethklok came to life and were then given a cute Japanese anime finish".

The popularity of the song spread worldwide over the last year-and-a-half, leading to a sold-out U.S. debut this Sunday (August 3, 2014) at the Fonda Theatre. The trio perfomed for the opening for Lady Gaga (note: this post published at AnimeNewsNetwork on August 8, 2014).

The Japanese Trio is set to open for popular pop artist Poker Face Dive at five different shows on her ArtRAVE tour across the United States. Both girls rocked out together at the Phoenix, Arizona show last July 30.
As you can see in this video, Paparazzi Popstar watched Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal), Moa Kikuchi (Moametal), and Yui Mizono (Yuimetal) during their set. She's in the security area at about the 0:53 mark.

Live performance:

Paparazzi Popstar is not new on Japanese pop music. Before the trio took over as the opening act, virtual idol Hatsune Miku opened at 15 of the tour's shows.
