Grimm Season 4: Nick’s Cure For Losing Grimm Powers Will Be 'Horrible'! How Long Will He Stay Powerless? Will Trubel Replace Nick?

Fans were left horrified and desperate for 'Grimm' season 4 to come sooner after Adelind tricked Nick into losing all of his Grimm powers in last season's finale.

Things got even worse when the cure spilled in the chaos at Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalie's (Bree Turner) wedding.

According to 'Grimm' executive producer, David Greenwalt, Nick Burkhardt (David Guintoli) will not only suffer from losing his powers, he'll also have to deal with an identity crisis.

With his life and job pretty much relying on his ability to see and fight off Wesens, Nick will be confronted with the question of who he really is. Losing his identity as a Grimm will give him the chance to assess problems other than what he faced before losing his powers.

"If they could cure him and if he could submit to that process, which is going to be horrible-or at least shocking-does he want to be a Grimm again?" Greenwalt told Zap2It.

This new development will also last longer than Nick's predicament in the beginning of season three when he turned into a zombie. That story arc, although quite interesting, was wrapped by the third or fourth episode.

This time, however, Nick would have to face the problem for more than one episode in 'Grimm' season 4. Fans don't have to worry though, he won't be replaced by another Grimm. Nick will get his powers back... eventually.

"This will go on longer than the zombie thing," the EP further shared. "But not just interminably. Long enough to really mine the issues around it."

Nick won't completely be helpless though. The EP confirmed that Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) will recur at least in "the first several." He and co-executive producer Jim Kouf haven't decided on how many episodes Trubel will appear in exactly.

He added, "That's a thing that's going to have to organically reveal itself."

Nick will definitely need Trubel's help with a new, dangerous Wesen coming to Portland.

'Octo-Man' or Gedächtnis Esser, a Wesen which steals people's memories through tentacles, will terrorize people, leaving them dead or with severe memory loss. He will also ominously leave Trubel in a "very dire state."

As for Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz), it was previously revealed that he will not be dying anytime soon.

'Grimm' season 4 will premiere on NBC on October 24, 9PM ET.
