Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, and Miley Cyrus may have been big winners for the MTV VMAs 2014 last Sunday, but the most fun happened behind the scenes!

Instagram was filled with celebrities posing for selfies with other stars, giving their fans a glimpse of them preparing back stage and enjoying at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

 Taylor Swift prepped her guy BFF Ed Sheeran for the event before getting goofy with her girl BFF Demi Lovato during the awards show.

 Kesha on the other hand, opted for a mixture of colourful and natural during preparation.

Meanwhile, British crooner Sam Smith got his own favourite celebs to "stay" with him, including Beyonce and the Kardashian girls.

Jesse, Miley Cyrus' date for the event, not only received her Video of the Year award for the 'Wrecking Ball' singer, he also got to enjoy some delicious In-N-Out burgers with her.
