While all the other Avengers have their own films, a Black Widow movie has yet to make its appearance.

According to SlashFilm, Marvel has already confirmed plans for the female Avenger's own story but no active production is in the works yet. With Scarlett Johansson pregnant right now, the project would definitely be on hold for some time.

The lack of production for the character isn't due to a shortage of fans. In fact, one fan has expressed his desire to direct a feature film based on Black Widow's story!

Neil Marshall, who directed the highly charged and emotional battle scene at Black Castle for 'Game Of Thrones' season four's 'Blackwater' episode, recently told Vanity Fair that he would "love" to do the superhero film.

"That's perfect, I would love to do that," he said in the interview.

As to why he wanted to work on the Black Widow movie, Marshall explained that he particularly liked Natasha Romanova's non-superhero character.

He further explained, "That character is really interesting, she doesn't have any superpowers, she just has extraordinary skills, and the world that she comes from, being this ex-K.G.B. assassin, I find that really fascinating, yeah."

He admitted that Scarlett Johanssen in 'Lucy' "interests" him.

"I think I'd like to do a big movie with a strong female lead, whether or not she would be a superhero," he said, insisting that his lead would have to be someone that he "can believe in."

He added, "I'm less interested in people with superpowers because I can't identify with them. Very rarely do they get killed off, and when they do get killed off, chances are they're going to be back . . . somehow."

Marshall's past works include the cult classic 'The Descent' and 'Centurion.' He also directed the first episode for NBC's 'Constantine' due to premiere later this year.

Based on his work in 'Blackwater,' fans can already imagine how engaging the fight scenes in his version of the Black Widow movie would be.

With Black Widow already penned in the 'Captain America' sequel and the character's rise in popularity among Avenger fans, a movie might just be in the horizon.
