"How To Train Your Dragon 2" has been warmly received by moviegoers and critics alike, with some claiming that the sequel is better executed than the first movie.

The movie stars Jay Baruchel (Hiccup), America Ferrera (Astrid), Gerard Butler (Stoick) and Djimon Hounsou (Drago) among many.
According to Hector Mackenzie of the Ross-shie Journal, the sequel "can confidently be ranked amongst those rare films that open up that old 'sequel better than the original' conversation beloved of movie geeks."

"So, there's the good news right there: the sequel really is better than the opening gambit. And that was none too shabby in the first place," he added.
The movie has also proved its box office prowess by being 2014's highest grossing animation.
After it debuted in China with a whopping $5.6M, the sequel now can boast of crossing the half a billion mark in worldwide ticket sales. The film has already surpassed other 2014 animation releases like "Rio 2" ($496M) and "The LEGO Movie" ($468M).
This early, talks about a "How To Train Your Dragon 3" is already in the works. Reports suggest that the movie will be shown in 2016.
Jay Baruchel (Hiccup) shares some information on the third movie in an interview with Empire Online.
"The basement of this one has to be as good as the first one, ideally better. The best thing about the first movie was that it's fun, it's really charming and incredibly compelling, but also unexpectedly heavy at parts. And so all those same things are the essence of the second one, but amped up. The stakes are higher. We knew that we were doing our Empire Strikes Back."
"I have inklings, I kinda know where it's meant to go. I know where the books end up, I know some of the mile markers, I know what the end results will be," he added.
