Ratings for "Jang Bo Ri Is here" climbed slowly and steadily during the course of its run. The show, starring Oh Yeon Seo, Kim Ji Hoon, Lee Ko Ri, Oh Chang Seok and Han Seung Yeon, started at 9.8 percent in the ratings before beginning its ascent.

In case you were wondering why it won such a loyal following and maybe wanted to marathon a few dozen episodes, here's how MBC summed up the basic plot.

"Can a long-lost daughter find happiness when she is reunited with her parents after 20 years?" In a complicated twist, a young woman from a wealthy family goes missing and is raised by a foster mom instead of her own parents. Meanwhile, her wealthy family adopts a girl to overcome the loss of their daughter. The tensions that arise when the daughter finds her real family result in a journey of understanding and forgiveness."

The drama's events take place in a company that makes hanboks in a traditional way. Each garment is hand dyed and sewn. The Master Artisan of the company, played by Kim Soo Mi, has two married sons and both her daughter-in-laws are her apprentices.  When she has to decide which of the two women will succeed her, the jealousy between them leads to decades of unhappiness.

Oh Yeon Soo plays Jang Bo Ri, a granddaughter of the Master Artisan. After an accident caused by her mother, Jang Bo Ri gets lost and adopted by another family. She cannot remember her own family. Jang Bo Ri is kind and compassionate, a devoted daughter to her adoptive mother and a dedicated caretaker of an abandoned baby.

Fate leads her to learn the traditional art of making hanboks and eventually brings her together with her real family.
