‘The King, Two Hearts,’ The Cursing Parrot
In the 9th episode of MBC’s drama ‘The King, Two Hearts,’ Eun Shi Kyung (played by Jo Jung Suk) gives a parrot to Princess Lee Jae Shin (played by Lee Yoon Ji), who is paralyzed from the waist down.
Shi Kyung awkwardly goes up to her and presents her with a parrot. He stutters out that the bird’s leg was broken…but the next day it got fixed…it fixed its own leg through exercising…and if the princess also…However, the princess is offended by this and gets angry saying how dare he compare her to a bird, and that if he expected her to accept the present with tears and it would help her magically walk again.
Poor Shi Kyung is now panicking and says the bird can also sing and tries to make the bird sing. As he is panicking, the bird, instead of singing, starts cursing, “Stupid idiot! Stupid idiot!” At this point Shi Kyung is mortified; however, Jae Shin bursts out laughing and asks Shi Kyung to bring the bird over.
Viewers are touched by the scene and can’t wait to see how their relationship will further develop.
