K-Drama To Watch: 'My Secret Hotel'

“My Secret Hotel” starring Yoo In Na, Nam Goong Min, and Jin Yi Han is one of the quirkiest K-Dramas currently airing.

Yoo In Na stars as Nam Sang Hyo, the manager of the wedding planning department at The Secret Hotel. The Secret Hotel is a renowned hotel but the wedding department becomes the subject of rumors involving the short marriage span of its newlyweds.

Sang Hyo maintains the secret of her short-lived Las Vegas marriage to Gu Hae Young (Jin Yi Han) while planning his wedding to Jung Soo Ah (Ha Yeon Joo). As Sang Hyo struggles with her remaining feelings for her ex-husband, she becomes involved with the hotel manager, Jo Seung Gyeom (Nam Goong Min).

Yoo In Na provided her opinion of the characters Hae Young and Seung Gyeom, during a recent on-set interview. When asked whether she would personally choose Hae Young over Seung Gyeom, she stated, “It is a very difficult question but at this moment I would choose Jin over Nam because I (Nam Sang Hyo) had developed feelings for Jin for longer amount of time.” She went on to clarify, “If the reason behind their divorce was his cheating, I have no mercy whatsoever.”

The plot of “My Secret Hotel” is further complicated by a series of murders involving the hotel staff. However, the drama approaches the investigations from a murder mystery perspective, as opposed to playing like a crime procedural. This makes “My Secret Hotel” more like a British murder mystery comedy than most Korean dramas.

“My Secret Hotel” airs on tvN Mondays and Tuesdays in the 11PM KST time slot.
