Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie met Queen Elizabeth II on Saturday!

The 39-year-old actress was named as Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George by the Queen herself for her campaign against sexual violence in war zones, according to CNN.

Jolie has been very active in her humanitarian efforts. She worked with former British Foreign Secretary William Hague to create the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative. She was also named as a High Commissioner for Refugees by the United Nations.

The mother of six called rape "an inevitable part of conflict" during her interview with CNN for the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict held in the UK last June.

"It is a weapon of war aimed at civilians," she pointed out. "It has nothing to do with sex, everything to do with power."

Angelina Jolie impressed Queen Elizabeth II for her support in the cause. Her Majesty presented the 'Maleficent' star with the female equivalent of knighthood inside Buckingham Palace's 1844 Room.

According to USA Today, Her Majesty named Jolie as an Honorary Dame in June for the Queen's Birthday Honors List.

"To receive an honor related to foreign policy means a great deal to me, as it is what I wish to dedicate my working life to," the acclaimed actress said about the appointment.

She added, "Working on PVSI and with survivors of rape is an honor in itself. I know that succeeding in our goals will take a lifetime, and I am dedicated to it for all of mine."

According to USA Today, Jolie's husband, Brad Pitt and their six children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne - proudly witnessed the ceremony.

According to a USA Today insider, "Everyone dressed up really smart."

Jolie herself wore a conservative gray suit, with her hair in a classic updo as she received the Honorary Dame medal from the Queen.

Despite being very busy shooting for 'By The Sea,' Angelina Jolie made sure to meet Queen Elizabeth II.

The source added, "It was difficult to take time off from the film, but Angie wouldn't have missed this for the world. What a day!"
