Xiaomi Mi3 vs. Xiaomi Mi4: Are they almost the same or does the China smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi deliver significant improvement to its latest flagship smartphone?

Xiaomi has been in the hardware business for three years. Starting as a software company, the Beijing-based firm now ships to six more countries, aside from China and Hong Kong. Xiaomi Mi3 was introduced to the market in the fourth quarter of 2013. It was a big hit. In India, the handset ran out of stock 30 minutes after its first batch was released. The number of units sold was not revealed, however.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi4 release date is August 2014. According to International Business Time, the latest Xiaomi flagship smartphone "has killer specifications that can give all the top-sellers a run for their money".

Screen Size, Rear and Front Camera, Resolution, and Processor

Both handsets have 5-inch screen size, 1920 x 1080 resolution, and 13MP rear camera. In terms of front camera quality, Xiaomi Mi4 wins because it has 8 megapixels, compared to Xiaomi Mi3's 2 megapixels.

The latest Xiaomi smartphone is also a victor in its processor as it is powered by 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801. Mi3 is equipped with 1.8GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 (for TD-SCDMA version) or 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 (for WCDMA and CDMA versions). This simply means higher CPU clock speed for Mi4.

RAM, Mobile Data, Battery

Xiaomi Mi4 offered 3GB of RAM. It's only 2GB for Mi3. Both Xiaomi smartphones support 2G and 3G. There's a plus, though, for Xiaomi Mi4 - 4G. Xiaomi Mi3 includes 3050mAh battery, while Mi4 carries 3080mAh.
