Facebook and What's App top Asia Pacific's most frequently used social media site and IM app.

In an article from TNooz, it was revealed that Asian IM apps, such as We Chat and Line, are giving Facebook and What's App a run for their money online.

Line gains an edge over Facebook in usage popularity in Thailand. Line also made it to the top 3 most used online networks in Japan and Indonesia, as further reported by TNooz.

Facebook and What's App are in a tight race in four countries in Asia.

What's App has gained greater popularity over Facebook in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and India.

According to research results furnished by Accor Hotels as reported in TNooz, 23% of travellers use You Tube constantly. On the other hand, only 11% of the travellers habitually use Instagram.

The research also furnished results indicating that 54% of females use Facebook daily, while only 45% of men use Facebook on an everyday basis.

Philippine travellers make up the largest community of users of Facebook in Asia at 73%. The percentage has increased in 13 points as compared to the results garnered the previous year.

Singaporean, Indian and Malaysian travellers usually use Facebook to search for information and post photos from their trips. These travellers use What's App to communicate with friends and other loved ones while away on a trip.
