Sci-fi movie "Ex Machina" US release date is set for April 10, 2015, while UK release date is set for January 23, 2015. Its trailer has been released! Watch the video below.

The upcoming sci-fi flick is directed by "Dredd" writer Alex Garland. Based on the recent post of Screen Rant, Garland wants to expand his career from screenwriting into outright directing. His goal has been on the way to be achieved as he was assigned to helm an indie-budgeted science-fiction film titled "Ex Machina."

Hollywood Reporter shared the annoucement that the "Dredd" writer has signed to join the indie film. He will write and direct this movie.

The 2015 thriller movie follows the story of a young employee of a billionaire tech maven. The employee is hand-picked to join his boss for a week-long vacation at a private villa. As he arrived in the villa, his employer wants him to join in an experiment which involves a prototype AI robot.

Meanwhile, Garland's previous film project "Dredd" which premiered in 2012 will not have a chance for a live-action sequel. However, the good news, according to Screen Rant article, is that it will come back as a new animated miniseries titled, "Judge Dredd: Superfiend."
