"Godzilla" synopsis: The Janjira nuclear plant was destroyed in 1999 and several people lost their lives, including supervisor Joe Brody's wife, Sandra, and a colleague. The cause was unknown. Years passed but Joe did not stop from searching the truth. His son Ford, a US Navy Ordinance Disposal Officer, decided to go to Japan to help his father. They discovered that what caused the devastation lies underneath the ground.  

Joe and Ford witness the resurgence of a horrifying threat to humanity. Godzilla is the only hope the world can get. But the challenge is huge. The humanity cannot even comprehend the destructive ally they have.

The sci-fi action film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (as Ford Brody), Elizabeth Olsen (Elle Brody), and Bryan Cranston (Joe Brody). Others in the cast are CJ Adams (young Ford), Ken Watanabe (Dr. Ishiro Serizawa), Juliette Binoche (Sandra Brody), Carson Bolde (Sam Brody), and others.

"Godzilla" is directed by Gareth Edwards, and written by Max Borenstein (screenplay), and Dave Callaham (story).

Olsen revealed in an interview that this movie is her first time to do CGI. "I didn't have any green screen to work with, though; it was all just an eye line and imagination."

She also said that filming "Godzilla" is different from "The Avengers".

"It's so crazy, you know, because you're like - the main difference is in 'Godzilla' you're reacting to something that's not there, and in something like 'The Avengers', is you're approaching and almost interacting with something that's not there."

Released May 16, 2014, "Godzilla" earned worldwide gross of $524,976,069. In U.S. alone, it achieved ticket sales of $200,676,069. Its foreign gross reached $324,300,000.
