Min Hyo Rin To Play The Lead In Mnet Music Drama

Singer and actress Min Hyo Rin will play the female lead in the upcoming Mnet music drama, "Perseverance Goo Hae Ra." Several k-pop idols have already been signed to the cast of this drama about a musical competition.

The story focuses on characters that aim for fame by trying out for Superstar K. Min will play the leading character Gu Hae Ra. Her dream is to introduce the world to her late father's work.

Min Hyo Rin, was recently seen in the film "Twenty," with co-stars Lee Jun Ho, Kim Woo Bin and Kang Ha Neul.

In "Perseverance Gu Hae Ra" she gets to star with B1A4′s Jinyoung, Super Junior-M′s Henry, Ulala Session′s Yu Seong Eun.

In the drama Gu Hae Ra and Kang Sae Jong, played by B1A4's Jinyoung, sign up for "Superstar K."

Besides appearing in a few films and dramas, Min Hyo Rin also has a singing career. She released an album titled "RinZ" and a single titled  "Touch Me." Even without her releases she is no stranger to the k-pop scene as she appeared in music videos for F.T. Island, Taeyang, Mighty Mouth and Junho.

As "Perseverance, Goo Hae Ra" is a story about the music industry the leading actors must be able to sing and dance.

The drama is a collaborative effort between director Kim Yong Bum, who produced "Sueprstar K" and "Dancing 9," and Ahn Jun Young, who directed the second season of "Dancing 9." The drama's writer is Shin Myung Jin. Shin worked on "Real Man," "Music Bank" and "Match Made In Heaven." The other writer working on this project is Jung Soo Hyun, who worked on "Non Stop" and "Apgujeong Diary."

The drama also stars Park Kwang Sun of Ulala Session. Park became a star by competing on the real "Superstar K." Yu Seong Chu, who first attracted notice with an appearance on "Voice Korea," will play Lee Woori.

The drama will start production in November as it is due to air in January 2015.
