The Celebrity-Studded Wedding Of Shin Dong Mi And Heo Gyu

An impressive number of k-drama celebrities turned up for the wedding of actors Shin Dong Mi and Heo Gyu. The couple married on Dec. 8 at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul. About 1,000 guests attended the private ceremony, which was decorated in a snow-white winter theme.

As both the bride and the groom have a long acting resume, they have befriended plenty of fellow actors and singers. The celebrities who showed up to honor the couple's special day included Lee Min Ho, Lee Sung Min, Jo Jin Woong, Yoo Joon Sang, Park Gun Hyung, Lina, Oh Man Suk, Song Seon Mi, Jung Man Sik, Kim Tae Woo, Jang Seung Jo, Hong Ji Min, Jang Eun Ah, Kim Ji Bang and Kim Yu Mi.

Shin Dong Mi, 37, who recently played the roles of Hong Gye Sook in "Yuna's Street" and Yeo Ok in "Wild Chives and Soybean Soup," is well known for her versatility and her ability to master different kinds of roles. She also recently appeared in the dramas "Golden Time" and "Empire of Gold." She had roles in two films this year, including "A Matter of Interpretation" and "A Hard Day."

Her new husband Heo Gyu, 44, debuted as a musician with the band Pinocchio. He has primarily performed in musicals such as "Gutenberg."

The couple planned the wedding so that it would take place in two installments. The winter wedding started with a beautiful and formal service. The bride wore a sparkling long-sleeved dress and a thin tiara to hold her simple veil. But then the second part of the ceremony was light-hearted and less formal.

Actor and comedian Kim Jin Soo served as the host for the second part of the ceremony and helped to set the mood. He made jokes and asked Heo Gyu to show off his kick boxing skills.

Musical actress Lina tearfully sang for the couple at the time of their wedding vows. At the altar Heo Gyu vowed that the couple would remain as happy as the day they met. When it was her turn, his bride Shin Dong Mi vowed to be grateful for what the couple had every day they were together.

Musical actresses Hong Ji Min and Jang Eun Ah also performed during the ceremony, their combined performances making it seem a lot like a joyous musical. Also performing during the ceremony were pianist Shin Ji Ho, indie band singer Kim Shin Eui and guitarist Gong Tae Woo.
