Super Smash Bros Won’t Have More Balance Patches For Wii U, ‘Nintendo Has No Plans To Adjust The Fighting Game’

Super Smash Bros for Wii U will not have any more balance patches. According to gamrreview.com, Game Director Masahiro Sakurai stated that Nintendo has no plans to further adjust or balance the popular fighting game.

"We don't have any such plans. If there are any glaring issues, we may address them," Sakurai said when pressed on balancing issues by Famitsu magazine.

Game Spot reported that additional downloadable content are still available for Smash Bros. Reportedly, another character named Mewtwo has already been confirmed and will be available in 2015 to players who own the game on both 3DS and Wii U versions. However, according to the website, there will be a slim chance that additional characters will be added afterwards.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is the "fifth game in the wildly popular fighting game franchise that brings together all the company's biggest characters." The latest release will allow 8 players to battle at once. Players can also jump into regular 4-player battles having a lot of character options to choose from. Users can also play against friends, CPU adversaries or even with strangers online.

Previous reports stated that Super Smash Bros has been the fastest selling game in the US upon its release. According to Forbes, Super Smash Bros knocks off Mario Kart 8 to second place after selling almost 500,000 copies for 3 days just in the US only.

Online site wiiudaily.com said that Super Smash Bros topped Japanese sales knocking down Pokemon OR/AS to second place a week after it has been released.

Reportedly, the Wii U sales almost doubled after the Super Smash Bros release which made a significant jump from 10k to 24k sales. VG247.com reported that Wii U sales went from 12,496 units the prior week to 24,469 units with the release of Super Smash Bros according to Media Create figures.
