A few months ago, Apple mentioned something about the Apple Watch release date during the launch of iPhone 6. For those who haven't heard about Apple's new toy, the Apple Watch is the company's first wearable device that allows iPhone users to see messages and facebook notifications on their wrists.

Since the Apple Watch requires the user to have an iPhone, Apple confirmed that it should work with the latest iPhone 6/6+ as well as with the iPhone 5s/5c.

The Apple Watch will be available in three different variants, which  should fit the wearer's lifestyle. The entry-level Apple Watch for everyday use, the Apple Watch Sport and the gold Apple Watch with a slightly higher price tag.

iPhone users who wanted to have the Apple Watch can choose between a stainless steel or space black stainless steel case, while Apple Watch Sport buyers could have an anodised aluminium case in silver or space grey. The high-end Watch Edition is enclosed in a 18-carat gold case and a sapphire crystal display as standard.

Aside from the three variants user could also have their own bild for their Apple Watch according to their preference. As such they can choose between either a 38mm or a 42mm height case that would come in different colors like stainless steel, silver aluminium, 18-carat yellow gold, space grey, space black, or 18-carat rose gold.

According to the latest Watchkit SDK, the 42mm version will sport a 390 x 312 resolution display, whereas the 38mm model's screen will have a resolution of 340 x 272.

Furthermore, there is a selection of straps of different colours, and of different materials, like leather, plastic, and metal links.

Although the tech giant didn't mention any specific date, the Apple Watch realease date is expected to be any time between January and May 2015, with a starting price tag of $349 in the US and £300 in GB.
