Lee Joon, who recently departed from the K-pop group MBLAQ, is considering a role in an upcoming SBS drama. On January 2, the Korean news outlet Newsen reported that SBS was currently in talks with Lee Joon for the dark comedy “I Heard Some Rumor.”

Actress Yoo Ho Jung is confirmed to lead the drama as Choi Yeon Hee, while Lee Joon has been offered the role of her son.

A representative for SBS stated that Lee Joon was a top choice for “I Heard Some Rumor” but his participation in the project is not yet confirmed.

On December 16, J.Tune Entertainment issued a statement confirming Lee Joon's departure from MBLAQ and acknowledged his desire to pursue an acting career. He is currently without representation, following the conclusion of his contract with J.Tune Entertainment in November 2014.

Lee Joon recently wrapped up the MBC fantasy series “Mr. Baek” (Mr. Back) where he held a starring role as Choi Dae Han, a spoiled hotel heir.

“I Heard Some Rumor” will provide a satirical look at the lives of Korea’s upper class. The drama is a joint project of writers Ahn Pan Suk and Jung Sung Joo, who came together in 2014 for “Secret Love Affair.”
