Super Junior's Choi Siwon stars in the upcoming Chinese film, “Dragon Blade.” “Dragon Blade” will premier in China and Hong Kong on February 19. The film will be released for audiences in Korea on March 12.

The K-pop idol will portray a general who supports Huo An, the protagonist of the film. Chan is in the starring role of Huo An, a commander who is dishonorably stripped of his title due to an unjust situation. Both stars will travel throughout the Chinese region to promote “Dragon Blade.”

The film reflects an international cast and is directed by Daniel Lee whose previous projects have included “Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon.”

“Dragon Blade” is an action blockbuster which is set in the period of the Han Dynasty. The story focuses on the struggles which were faced by leaders of the Chinese and Roman civilizations. The film also stars legendary actor Jackie Chan along with John Cusack and Academy Award-winning actor, Adrien Brody. Brody portrays Tiberius in the film, while Cusack stars the Roman general, Lucius.

The Super Junior star has made bold moves towards pursuing an acting career. In addition to “Dragon Blade,” he will appear in the upcoming films “Helios” and “To The Fore.” His first significant acting role was in the 2005 drama “Eighteen, Twenty Nine.” He then had a starring role in the 2006 Hong Kong-Chinese film “A Battle of Wits.”

His popularity in the Chinese market has continued to extend past the group Super Junior through projects like the 2011 Taiwanese drama “Skip Beat,” where he starred opposite his band mate Lee Donghae.

"Dragon Blade" premiers for Chinese audiences on February 19.
