Good news to all Marvel fans as Spider-Man and Hawkeye are rumored to join the next Captain America movie, "Captain America: Civil War."

According to Movie News Guide, former "Highschool Musical" star Zac Efron has been targeted for the role of Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man. Sony has shocked the world when they decided to collaborate with Marvel Studios in an effort to "re-introduce" the web-slinger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Movie News Guide adds that Spider-Man will likely show up "Captain America: Civil War," and stated why they think Zac Efron is the perfect person to play the role.

"Zac Efron is one of the most notable actors being chosen by fans and critics to play the role of the new Spider-Man. Efron is one of the biggest names in his generation in Hollywood. He has also greatly transitioned from his infamous role in “High School Musical” as he took on more mature and serious roles in “The Lucky One” and “That Awkward Moment,” the website quoted.

However, Movie Pilot  commented that Efron is unfit to play Spider-Man in movie because he is "too much of a pretty boy" and that he is better off playing Flash Thompson or his alter-ego Venom in future projects.

Movie Pilot also revealed other candidates for the role of Spider-Man such as Logan Lerman ( "Noah," "Percy Jackson," "Fury"), Dylan O'Brien ( "The Maze Runner," "The Internship"), and Jay Baruchel ( "Tropic Thunder," "This Is The End," "RoboCop")

As for Hawkeye, Jeremy Renner hinted the possibility of his character appearing in Captain America 3 during an interview with MTV News.

“I’m happy to be the ensemble. I’m not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means,” Renner said. “I think he’s a utility guy that can bounce around into other people’s universes a little bit, especially like ‘Cap 3.’ ”

However, Collider has reported that Jeremy Renner is unsure if he could show up in movie due to his busy schedule, or that he won't show up at all.

“There are rumblings of Captain America 3. I don’t know what’s going to happen there. I’ve got to find the time, man (laughs). I’m trying to stay home and I can’t,” Renner said.

In an interview with Crave Online, "Captain America: Civil War" co-director Joe Russo dismissed the rumors of Hawkeye being in the movie.

"We can’t. That’s part of our cone of silence. My head would explode. You saw Scanners, right?" Russo said during the interview.

Joe Russo adds,"Yeah, that’s loosely based on Marvel’s policy. Their security team is now… My head will blow up. I can’t tell you."

"Captain America: Civil War" is part of phase 3 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is slated to be released on May 6, 2016.
