"Kill Me, Heal Me" continues to rule the ratings and given the effort the actors have put into realizing their roles, that success should come as no surprise.

Ji Sung has done a well-crafted job of playing a man with several distinct personalities, each with its own mannerisms and affectations. From motorcycle-riding, guyliner-wearing bad guy to squealing fan girl, each personality is distinct and multidimensional. And in the latest episodes Ji Sung deftly combines characteristics of each personality, blending them into a single personality as he heals his fractured soul.

That is the goal of treating dissociative identity disorder or multiple personality disorder, to heal the trauma that fractured the person into separate identities.

And in healing himself, he will help Hwang Jung Eum discover her past too.

Ji Sung's acting in this drama has convinced viewers to care about his tortured character. And some fine acting from the rest of the cast, including Park Seo Joon, as Hwang Jung Eum's protective twin brother, helps to make the conflicting struggles of the characters very relatable.

The drama achieved first place this week with ratings of 10.5 percent of the viewers. But it might not be able to stay in first place.

The competition has heated up with the arrival of the new KBS drama "Unkind Women." The new drama about three generations of women experiencing pain and love began its first episode with ratings of a respectable 9.1 percent. One reason for the new drama's early popularity may be the inclusion of Song Jae Rim, whose popularity got a healthy boost from his appearance on the reality show "We Got Married." "Unkind Women" also stars Lee Ha Na, Kim Hye Ja, Chae Shi Ra, Do Ji Won and Kim Ji Suk. Lee Ha Na will play Song Jae Rim's romantic partner in this drama and suggestive preview stills even show them in the same bathroom wrapped only in towels.

The SBS drama "Hyde, Jekyll and I" landed in third place. The drama only achieved 5.6 percent in the ratings. The story of a man with two distinct personalities stars Hyun Bin and Han Ji Min. This story of multiple personalities has not even come close to the popularity enjoyed by "Kill Me, Heal Me," perhaps because even Ji Sung's worst personality in "Kill Me, Heal Me" was more appealing than Hyun Bin's bad guy persona.
