On March 8, the Korean outlet TV Report examined the popularity of the psychological drama “Kill Me, Heal Me.” As the series reaches a stirring conclusion, the drama has experienced a slight drop in ratings but continues to thrive as Korean audiences continue to experience “Kill Me, Heal Me” syndrome.

The report highlighted four reasons that display the love Korean fans have had for the series. The comedic timing and superb acting of Ji Sung has yielded numerous parodies, as variety shows and commercials recognize the seven personalities portrayed in the drama.

1. 'Kill Me, Heal Me' has yielded many parodies.

The sign of a successful K-Drama is not always reflected in high ratings and positive feedback from critics. “Kill Me, Heal Me” has joined the ranks of dramas like “Master's Sun” and “My Love From The Stars” in spawning numerous parodies. SNL Korea recently recognized Ji Sung's superior acting with a sketch led by Jung Sung Ho, while Superstar K included a parody of Yo Na in a video short.

2. The outpouring of fan support for the show is on-par with the enthusiasm given to idol groups.

Audiences have shown their love for the drama in numerous ways including fan art and food trucks. “Kill Me, Heal Me” has had a major impact on Korea audiences by drawing attention to the severity of child abuse. In the article published by TV Report, sources stated that fans have raised more than $9,000 U.S. dollars, to support awareness of child abuse.

3. Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum have established their potential, as powerful leads.

Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum drew in audiences with their solid acting performances in “Secret.” The pair have proven to be a successful on-screen couple after “Kill Me, Heal Me.” TV Report also noted the endorsement potential of Ji Sung. The actor drove the sales of the lip gloss worn by Yo Na, which was released two years prior to the drama.

4. 'Kill Me, Heal Me' had a solid original soundtrack.

One of the biggest attractions of “Kill Me, Heal Me” has been its original soundtrack. The intriguing theme song “Auditory Hallucination” continues to remain on the real time charts, since its release on January 14. Ji Sung recently contributed his voice to the soundtrack, which has been one of the best in recent months, along with “Pinocchio.”
