Ian Somerhalder's Relationship With Fiance Nikki Reed Prompts Him To Drop Damon And Elena Romance In Vampire Diaries?

"Vampire Diaries" fans might not see any more of 'Delena' as Damon and Elena are bound to break up. Is the engagement between Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed to blame?

In an interview with TVGuide, Ian Somerhalder said that the return of Damon's mom would throw his world on a loop.

"The two most important women in his life, Katherine and his mother, abandoned him and didn't love him. That's a gnarly thing," he said. "So, he's going to spend some time trying to find out what really happened. It's a brutal thing for him to go through and he's going to have to figure it out."

What about Delena, Will they continue their romance?

"I don't think that's absolutely going to happen, but I think they're trying," he said. "The situation is very intense and it's hard. But you definitely see [him putting in effort] and you don't always see that side of him. So, that's cool."

Then there's the return of Bonnie into Damon's life as well, which would make it harder for him to be loyal to Nina Dobrev's Elena.

Ian Somerhalder said, "We have a huge party in this episode, which was a lot of fun to shoot. Bonnie and Damon have a really great scene in this episode where Bonnie is just so fed up. She always gets hurt and is always the fall girl, and it's always so intense for her. She tries her hardest to help people and it always backfires on her. This experience in the prison world made her a woman, and she's no longer going to deal with this bulls-."

 "They really are happy to see each other. It's kind of cute to see the two of them together," Ian Somerhalder explained.

Celebrity Dirty Laundry previously alleged that there's tension on the set between Nina Dobrev and her ex Ian Somerhalder when he started dating Nikki Reed.

"They've kept things civilized and refused to create a fuss on-set [at least, in the mainstream media's eyes] after their breakup, but our sources have told us that things still remain awkward between them and downright hostile on 'The Vampire Diaries' set," the report claimed.

But then another article from Hollywood Life claimed that Nikki Reed should be worried that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev were "pretty cozy" during the set of "The Vampire Diaries."

"Nina and Ian were VERY touchy in between takes," the source claimed. "Nina walked in and sat next to Ian on the pew. When she sat down, she immediately leaned her head on his shoulder and just sat there for a few minutes until it was time to roll."
