Is Zayn Malik's fairytale engagement to Perrie Edwards finally over?

Photos of the One Direction hottie holding hands and cuddling with a blonde identified as Lauren Rich in Thailand surfaced, which had Zayn Malik taking to Twitter to apologize.

Zayn Malik tweeted, "I'm 22 years old... I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there's a lot of jealous fucks in this world I'm sorry for what it looks like x."

"After the mystery girl was identified as Lauren Rich, more pictures were found which made Zayn look even worse! In one pic, a sweaty Zayn literally has his arm wrapped around the girl's bare belly at club in Thailand!" reported Hollywood Life.

It didn't help that Lauren Rich posted the compromising photo on her social media along with the caption, "Partying with Zayn from One Direction last night." She also called it the "best night" of her life.

But Hollywood Life also noted that based on the post by Lauren Rich, nothing seemed to have happened between her and Zayn Malik that night, other than the cuddling and the PDA.

To date, Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has yet to issue a statement in light of the controversial photos. It's also not clear if the engagement is over.

Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards announced their engagement in 2013, and their relationship has been the subject of multiple split rumors.

Just five days ago, Perrie Edwards shared a photo on her Instagram while she was out partying in Dubai. "The best thing about being a woman... Is the prerogative to have a little fun!" the Little Mix singer captioned the photo.

But what caught her fans' eye, however, was the fact that Perrie Edwards was wearing another bling in place of the engagement ring Zayn Malik gave her.

One of her fans observed, "Where is her engagement ring? It's ok I'm just wondering."
