'Producer' Released First Stills Featuring Cha Tae Hyun

The Korean outlet Newsen has published the first stills of the upcoming KBS series, "Producer." The photos depict veteran actor Cha Tae Hyun in scenes where he appears to be upset with the filming process for the variety show, "1 Days, 2 Nights" which is featured in the drama. This is meant to provide a sense of hyperrealism of Cha was a cast member of seasons 2 and 3 of the on-going KBS2 variety series. 

The 39-year-old stars as Ra Joon Mo, a variety show producer who has worked in the industry for 10 years without a successful series. 

Actress Gong Hyo Jin will return to Korean drama in the role of Tak Ye Ji, a music television producer who also has 10 years of experience under her belt. She is intelligent and opinionated, which is essential to her role in the male dominated industry of production. 

The highly anticipated series is written by Park Ji Eun, the acclaimed screenwriter credited with the fantasy time jump series, "My Love From The Star."

Hallyu star Kim Soo Hyun rejoins Park for the project. His appearance in the series has raised expectations from industry insiders and fans, following his successful execution of the lovable alien Do Min Joon in "My Love From The Star." In "Producer," he stars as Baek Seung Chan, a fledgling producer-director who once aspired to become a prosecutor. His love of women drives him towards entertainment production but he may maintain the curious convictions of a prosecutor.

IU rounds out the central cast as Cindy, a famous vocalist who started training when she was 13-years-old. Interest in the series increased with her casting, as she reunites with Kim for the first time since the 2011 music series, "Dream High." 

"Producer" will premiere on May 8.
