The new Hong Sisters drama began filming and some of the first stills involved actor Yoo Yeon Suk riding a horse in the middle of Seoul.
K-drama fans may already know that he will play the chaebol Baek Geon Woo in this drama so his having a horse of his own is no surprise. But why is he riding it in the middle of Seoul?
This scene, filmed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., naturally attracted attention. A crowd formed at the Dongdaemun location to watch the actor but he did not seem distracted by their presence. Yoo Yeon Suk was kind to his horse, patting it and giving it water.
For the riding scene, the actor was dressed in his chaebol best, wearing a sporty salmon-colored shirt with a black riding cap.
Members of the "Warm and Cozy" production crew told the Korean media outlet Sports Donga that Yoo Yeon Suk has already blended into his character. They said that the actor, who previously appeared in "Gu Family Book: and "Reply 1994," already talks like Baek Geon Woo.
In the drama his character moves to Jeju Island to open a restaurant. His only motivation for that location is that a girl he likes lives near there. The drama was originally called "Jeju Gatsby" after "The Great Gatsby" a novel in which a character builds a mansion to be close to a woman he likes. But now the drama is called "Warm and Cozy" because the character names his restaurant Warm and Cozy.
Kang So Ra will play the girl he eventually falls for.
Kang So Ra's character has worked in fashion for five years, but after leaving her job, she lands on the island and starts working at his restaurant. They first meet at the airport on the way to the island but naturally it is not love at first sight.
After the first script reading, the production crew said that the chemistry between the actors was outstanding and should be anticipated.
The drama also stars Lee Sung Jae, Kim Seong Oh and B1A4's Jin Young. Jin Young will play a restaurant employee who went to pharmacy school but then had second thoughts about a career in pharmacy. He might provide some romantic rivalry for Yoo Yeon Suk's character.
"Warm and Cozy" is written by the Hong Sisters, the writing duo that produced "You're Beautiful," The Master's Sun" and "My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho." Park Hong Kyun is the director.
The rom-com is set to air in May following the drama "Angry Mom."
