Lee Joon has been focused on acting lately and it has paid off. His drama "Heard It Through The Grapevine" won best drama at the Baeksang Drama Awards. He was nominated for Best New Actor in a drama even though he lost that award to ZE:A's Im Si Wan, who won for his role in "Misaeng."

Even a nomination is an honor.

But the fact that his acting career is really taking off does not mean that Lee Joon has ruled out singing in the future.

In an interview with the Korean media outlet OSEN, her was asked how he felt about the comeback of the band MBLAQ. He performed with the five-member band MBLAQ from 2009 until his contract with the J. Tune Camp agency ended in Nov. 2014. He announced his departure from the group in Dec. 2014 to focus on his acting career.

"I wish MBLAQ the best," he said.

MBLAQ recently announced that they planned a comeback as a three-member group in June. When Lee Joon left, Thunder, another member, also left to focus on his own career.

"I haven't heard the song," said Lee Joon. "Bu I believe they will do well."

The fact that he no longer sings with MBLAQ does not mean he is done with singing. Previous statements that he made have been misinterpreted.

"What I meant to say was that I wanted to focus on acting for a while, not that I will be quitting singing for good," I'm not pleased with my acting yet, so I want to focus on that for the moment. Later, if I'm given the chance to sing, I will consider it."

He has wanted to act since he was in middle school. It was less a conscious choice than something he naturally gravitated toward.

"Instead of deciding that I would concentrate on becoming an actor, it just happened naturally. I've wanted to act since I was in middle school and in high school I went to classes to learn how to act. It just happened naturally."

Before his appearance as the idealistic chaebol in "Heard It Through The Grapevine," he won praise for his performance as a deranged barista in the drama Gap Dong" and as an overnight star his first film "Rough Play." For his role in "Rough Play," he won a Best New Actor award at the First Wildflower Film Awards.

The last episode of "Heard It Through The Grapevine" airs on June 2.
