"Girls" star and creator Lena Dunham revealed what it was like shooting sex scenes for the HBO series. In a recent interview, she admitted that the intimate shots made her feel uncomfortable.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Lena Dunham said that she was surprised with how the intimate scenes in "Girls" were filmed.
"'I never understand when people say 'Sex scenes are so mechanical; it doesn't feel like anything.' It feels like someone f**king you! It's confusing."
The 29-year-old added that she no longer bothered covering herself up, saying it's "impractical."
"I stopped wearing the nude patch after the first season of 'Girls.' There's not one guy who works on that show who hasn't seen the inside of my vagina."
The actress further explained to other interviewees, Amy Schumer (Inside Amy Schumer), Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish) and Kate McKinnon, 31 (Saturday Night Live) what a nude patch is.
"This patch - you glue it over your vagina. It gets sweaty and always falls off. My male co-stars, at the end of the day, don't care," she said.
His male co-stars, however, opted to still wear a penis bag.
Meanwhile, former "The Office" star Ellie Kemper have an entirely different policy when it comes to being intimate on screen.
"I'm so prudish that when I've had to kiss someone in a scene, I think for the next hour that we're in love! It's a middle-school frame of mind," she shared.
Lena Dunham, however, emphasized that she will never have sex just so she could get a laugh out of an audience. Amy Schumer also shared her experience about being intimate with a cast member on "Trainwreck" movie.
"When I was filming last summer, I had a bunch of sex scenes. Full penetration. We went for it."
"This guy we were going to have make out with me was like, 'Um, do you want our first kiss to be on camera?' I was like, 'No, no, come to my trailer and we'll make out beforehand.' It was so grotesque," she said.
