"Yawang" Kim Sung Ryung's Passionate Acting "Brings the Story to Life"

There is a character in the SBS drama "Yawang" who is just as important as the main characters.

During the dramatic SBS drama "Yawang", there is a character that is bringing more life and more fury to the drama. It is not anybody who plays a main character but actor Kim Sung Ryung, who is playing Baek Do Kyung, the Baek Hak Group's oldest daughter.

Currently, "Yawang" is featuring Joo Da Hae (Soo Ae) as a character that resembles a serial killer while Ha Ryoo (Kwon Sang Woo) fails to take her down countless times. The drama has been reviewed as a bit frustrating since there is not much progress. However, in the previous episode that aired March 18, viewers found Baek Do Kyung's desire to take revenge for the death of her son Baek Do Hoon (Jung Yun Ho) very intriguing. Baek Do Kyung's burning fury brought the drama to life.

In the episode, Baek Do Kyung stabs Joo Da Hae in the stomach and tells her that she is going to burn her to death while she pours gasoline on her. Baek Do Kyung brought a new level of terror to the drama "Yawang".

Even though much of Joo Da Hae's crimes throughout the drama are not related to Baek Do Kyung, other than the death of Baek Do Hoon, her vengeful action is reasonable. Baek Do Kyung had given birth to Baek Do Hoon when she was 18 years old and for over 29 years, she had to act like his older sister. For 29 years, she couldn't even hear her son call out to her as "mom". Baek Do Kyung's crime is completely different from the crimes Joo Da Hae has been committing all this time. Baek Do Kyung's words, "Find out how it feels to burn to death", shows that her action is not motivated by selfish desires to get ahead. As a mother who lost her son, she is letting go of her own life in order to take revenge on the killer.

Kim Sung Ryung was incredible in portraying the anger that is boiling inside of a mother who is staring into the eyes of his son's killer. The close-up shot of her face while she says, "Look carefully. This is the face of the mother of the man you killed", does not reveal only hear beauty but a mother with a broken heart.
