Kim Soo Hyun has received increased attention for his vocal skills during the karaoke scene in the June 6 episode of "Producer." A segment during the tvN entertainment program "The List 2015" focused the actor and other stars who are excellent singers.Kim was spotlighted for his vocal training, which was under the tutelage of Park Jin Young (J.Y. Park), during the 2011 musical drama, "Dream High."

Kim starred as Song Sam Dong, a hapless country boy who was also a musical prodigy. In the series, he appeared alongside talented acting idols including Miss A's Suzy, IU, T-ARA's Eunjung, 2PM's Taecyeon and Wooyoung. However, his vocal abilities were convincingly matched with the K-pop stars. For the role, he trained with JYP Entertainment for three months, perfecting his skills as a singer and dancer. At the time of the production, representatives for the agency stated that he did not receive preferential treatment, enduring the rigorous schedule that is followed by trainees. As a result, he was able to successfully debut as a singer, in the series.

His solo vocals can be heard on "Dreaming" and the title track of "Dream High." He also appeared on "The Moon Embracing the Sun" soundtrack and provided two songs for "My Love from the Star."

While there are several solo vocalists including Lee Seung Gi and Seo In Guk who have seamlessly transitioned to acting, there are fewer actors who possess the abilities to segue into vocal music. Here are 7 K-Drama stars with excellent singing voices.
