Facebook celebrated the victory for marriage equality by launching the Celebrate Pride tool which allows Facebook users to easily show off their support by adding a rainbow filter to their profile photo with just a single click.

Social networking giant Facebook has unveiled a new tool that allows Facebook users to show off its support for marriage equality. Facebook founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg announced the Celebrate Pride tool on his personal page in the wake of the US Supreme Court's ruling that same-sex couples have the constitutional right to marry, according to records on CNet.

"From all of us at Facebook, happy Pride!" the site reads.

Here's how Facebook users can show off their support:

While logged into Facebook, click this link to open the Celebrate Pride tool
On the new Celebrate Pride page, Facebook users can see a preview of their profile photo with the transparent rainbow overlay
Edit the picture description (optional)
Tap the blue buttons that says, "Use as Profile Picture"

Zuckerberg used the new tool to pep up his own profile photo on Friday, June 26, and wrote a separate post celebrating the momentous ruling, PC Mag noted.

"Our country was founded on the promise that all people are created equal, and today we took another step towards achieving that promise," Zuckerberg wrote. "I'm so happy for all of my friends and everyone in our community who can finally celebrate their love and be recognized as equal couples under the law."

That being said, Facebook is not the only tech giant celebrating the historic ruling. Typing "gay marriage" into Google shows a rainbow heart along with other colorful artwork.

The celebration comes after the Supreme Court quashed state gay marriage bans, legalizing it nationwide.

According to reports on The New York Times, Justice Anthony M. Kennedy wrote in the decision that "No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family."

"In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were," he added.
