Six K-Dramas That Are Satisfyingly Spooky

If you like a good ghost story, there are plenty of ghostly k-dramas to choose from. And the latest one is sure to scare up some viewers.

"Oh My Ghost," starring Park Bo Young, Jo Jung Suk, Im Joo Hwan an Kim Seul Gi, will air on July 3. In this story Park Bo Yong plays Na Bong Sun a timid sous chef who can see ghosts. She has a crush on the top chef, played by Jo Jung Suk, but she is so shy that he doesn't notice her until a ghost named Sin Soo Ae possesses her. Since comedienne Kim Seul Gi plays the ghost, her antics are bound to be funny. Sin Soo Ae is quite forward and nothing like the woman whose body she inhabits.

Viewers can expect some supernatural sparks to fly between the leading actors.

Here are five more spooky k-dramas that we liked:

1.     "The Master's Sun." Our hands-down favorite, this ghostly tale stars Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sub. Everyone thinks her character is crazy because she is always talking to ghosts. And his character does not believe in anything he can't see. Touching him is the only way she can make the ghosts go away. Of all the k-drama ghosts we've seen, her visions are the scariest.

2.     "The Night Watchman's Journal: Some ghost stories take viewers to the past. In this drama, Jung Il Woo plays a prince with the ability to see ghosts. In chasing ghosts he learns more about his people and thus becomes a better prince.

3.     "Who Are You?" Some ghost stories also feature a mystery. So E Hyun and Ok Taecyeon are detectives who try to solve cases based on the items in the Lost and Found Dept. where they have been assigned. She can see ghosts, but that has a lot to do with her dead husband, played by Kim Jae Wook.

4.     "Arang and the Magistrate:" Shin Min Ah plays a ghost who can't remember anything and can't rest until she finds out how she died. Everyone who can see her is scared to death, except Kim Eun Oh, played by Lee Jun Ki. She begs him to help her.

5.     "Bride of the Century:" The ghost in this drama makes brief and not so scary appearances. She's the first wife of the character played by Lee Hong Ki and her death strengthened the belief that the first wife of any family heir is destined to die. That's why Yang Jin Sung's character is pretending to be Lee Hong Ki's wife.
