“The God of The Work Place” Stars off With Good Ratings, “Yawang” Still in The Lead
KBS' new Monday-Tuesday drama “The God of The Work Place” also known as "The Queen of Office" scored good ratings of its first day.
According to Nielsen Korea, on April 1st, “The God of The Work Place” started with 8.2% of ratings. This surpass the drama's expectations, and brings back KBS' hope for a real ratings fights with the other two channels, after “Advertisement Genius Lee Tae Baek,” was not able to grab the public's attention.
On this night, the drama started by Miss Kim (Kim Hye Soo), as the very efficient worker. She does everything she was asked for, and leaves her co-workers in shock. She never missed her lunch brake, and leaves the office at the exact time she is supposed to. It also showed the funny first encounter of the leading roles, Miss Kim and and Gyu Jik (Oh Ji Ho).
The SBS drama “Yawang” was on top on this day, and recorded 22.5% which is .4% less that last week's ratinngs.
On this night, the second to last episode was aired, and showed the first scene of the drama, when Ha Ryu goes looking for the First Lady, and they end up with a gun between them, not knowing who was shot. It turns out that Ha Ryu was the one who was shot with the gun. Also Joo Da Hae finally starts to pay for all her wrongdoings, when it was revealed that she had taken money for political funds, Mr. President asked for divorce and her only ally, her brother realized Joo Da Hae's true colors.
“Yawang” will end on April 2nd, with 24 episodes, and we will see how high the ratings will go for the last episode.
Next week, yet another battles of ratings will start when MBC and SBS premiere their very anticipated dramas “Gu Family Book” and “Jang Ok Jung.” With both drama starring beloved actors and actresses, it is hard to say who will become the owner of Mondays and Tuesdays. It will be tight fight between SBS, MBC and KBS.
