WWE fans rejoice! The Undertaker might be returning to the squared ring at WWE Battleground event.

If rumors doing rounds are anything to go by, WWE fans can anticipate a huge surprise as there is talk on Reddit of The Undertaker supposedly returning to the squared ring at the WWE Battleground pay-per-view on Sunday.

During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez mentioned that wrestling fans could in fact see this happen. The WWE Network numbers being released could be a factor, according to Alvarez. He also noted that aside from wanting a better number to report, the World Wrestling Entertainment could also set up a SummerSlam angle for "The Phenom."

Recently a photo of The Undertaker working out surfaced, stirring speculations of his return. In addition, a recent live report of fans hearing his trademark going in a WrestleMania 32 ad further added fuel to the belief.

According to reports on WrestleZone, The Undertaker could very well make an appearance before WrestleMania.

The Undertaker only appears once a year, at WrestleMania and that's when wrestling fans across the world get to see him in the ring, so his return at WWE Battleground will be a huge surprise, Fansided noted.

"The Deadman" returning to the WWE will without a doubt drastically change the landscape of things, and its pretty obvious what his role might be. The Undertaker might be interfering to cost Brock Lesnar the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. However, with Lesnar being a face, WWE will need to spin the Taker appearance accordingly. With Lesnar being the one to end Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania, it makes a good amount of sense.

In addition, Lesnar took out Undertaker's storyline brother Kane this past week. Lesnar and Undertaker can start a small feud that would carry over to SummerSlam, where "The Deadman" would look for retribution for his WrestleMania loss.

Though there is no confirmation yet, if The Undertaker returns at WWE Battleground, this could be one of the more memorable shows of the entire year so far for WWE.
