The first day of KCON LA kicked off on July 31 with a surprise performance from K-pop rookie group, Monsta X, during Klub KCON.

Monsta X performed before a delighted audience of KCON fans, who attended the special after-hours event. The seven-member group has grown in popularity, following the challenging competition show, "No.Mercy."

The crowd went wild when the group hit the stage around 6:30 p.m. Their appearance came an hour into the all-ages club event.

The group expressed their enthusiasm with appearing at KCON and the opportunity to appear before international fans. They also revealed their surprise at the warm reception from the audience, who was thrilled by the choreography and vocals.

In May 2015, Monsta X released their first extended play album, "Trespass." The Starship Entertainment group combines elements of K-pop with hip-hop to create a unique sound.

Day one of KCON LA 2015 included several highlights. Zion.T and Crush appeared before an enthusiastic crowd for a fan engagement.

Fans of Superstar K champion, Roy Kim, were able to see the singer-songwriter during his fan engagement. He also walked through the convention center floor, which created great buzz throughout KCON 2015 LA.

Monsta X will perform on Saturday, August 1 during MCountdown. Other artists included in the concert include Super Junior, GOT7, Roy Kim and their label mates, SISTAR.

Ticketing can be obtained through the website for KCON USA
