"The Secret of Birth" Sung Yoo Ri and Lee Jin Praised for Their Performances

"The Secret of Birth" Former idol group members Sung Yoo Ri and Lee Jin are drawing attention for their performances in the new SBS drama.

May 5, the 3rd episode of the SBS weekend drama "The Secret of Birth" featured two friends, Jung Yi Hyun (Sung Yoo Ri) and Lee Sun Young (Lee Jin) relying on each other like family.

Jung Yi Hyun and Lee Sun Young had been best friends since they were young girls. However, when Jung Yi Hyun reappears after being gone for a year, Lee Sun Young is completely shocked. It turns out that Lee Sun Young had made 2 mistakes in the past that affected Jung Yi Hyun. In the meantime, Lee Sun Young had married Jung Yi Hyun's cousin Choi Ki Tae (Han Sang Jin).

Lee Sun Young tries to apologize to Jung Yi Hyun but realizes that she does not remember anything that happened. Instead, Lee Sun Young shows her life with the in-laws to Jung Yi Hyun and tells her, "I'm not happy here. This is hell. Please remember all of this. If you start remembering everything from the past, please pity me."

Jung Yi Hyun figures out that Lee Sun Young had done something wrong to her but holds her friend tightly. For 5 years, Jung Yi Hyun stands by Lee Sun Young like an umbrella, blocking her from the rain. Whenever Lee Sun Young was being pushed around by her mother-in-law, Jung Yi Hyun appeared to save her.

When Lee Sun Young failed to get pregnant after 6 years of marriage, her mother-in-law continuously dragged her to church to pray. Jung Yi Hyun helps Lee Sun Young escape church visits with her mother-in-law and after 5 years, they basically become real family.

Two members of the legendary girl group Finkl appeared in this drama together as two friends who will eventually become enemies. Previously, they have both received harsh criticism for their acting; however they have matured as actresses and are receiving praise for their performances.
