On August 20, Newsis published a report which focused on the success of the recent Korea Tourism Organization commercial, which features actor Lee Min Ho. The video, titled Korea Your Story, was published to YouTube on July 31. Since its initial broadcast, the ad has garnered more than 7.3 million views.
According to the article published by Newsis, the video featuring the "Gangnam 1970" star has the highest recorded views from overseas audiences of any promotional campaign issued by the Korea Tourism Organization. The commercial was digitally published across various platforms including Youku and YouTube.
Targeting international audiences, the 28-year-old actor highlights the splendor of key tourist spots like Jeju Island in the ad campaign. Award-winning director Wayne Peng is responsible for the compelling cinematography featured in the segment.
Lee Min Ho continues to impact international fans through his iconic roles in Korean drama. His impact on the Korean or Hallyu Wave began with the 2009 teen drama, "Boys Over Flowers." The success of the series led to roles in action dramas like "City Hunter," which was followed by the Hallyu hit, "The Heirs."
Lee has been praised for his transition into film, marked by his breakout role in "Gangnam 1970." His next project is the high-budget blockbuster, "Bounty Hunters."
