'Yong Pal' Ratings Slightly Drop
Ratings for the September 10 episode of "Yong Pal" were slightly lower, but the weeknight drama continues to bring in record viewership. According to Nielsen Korea, "Yong Pal" recorded 19.1 percent in nationwide viewership. This is a decrease of 0.2 percent from its previous episode.
Episode 12 of the SBS series marked a turning point for Kim Tae Hyun (Joo Won) and Han Yeo Jin (Kim Tae Hee). Yeo Jin attempted to regain control of the Han conglomerate, after discovering that her deceased lover was a spy working for her half-brother, Han Do Joon (Jo Hyun Jae).
Tae Hyun returned to his dangerous side job as Yong Pal or the gangster doctor. His work took him to an abandoned warehouse where injured gang members needed his attention. However, he encountered an assassin that was sent to destroy him.
The episode culminated with Yeo Jin attending her own funeral and Tae Hyun trapped within the custody of law enforcement.
The MBC supernatural drama, "Scholar Who Walks the Night" concluded with a vague ending that was left to the interpretation of the viewer. The series finale recorded 7.7 percent ratings, as audiences tuned in to see the fate of Kim Sung Yeol (Lee Joon Gi) and Jo Yang Sun (Lee Yoo Bi).
While the conclusion may have been open-ended, the final episode was packed with thrilling action, leading to a showdown between Sung Yeol and Gwi (Lee Soo Hyuk). The deposed king (TVXQ's Changmin) literally brought the house down to eradicate the pesky vampire but may have taken out both of the bloodsuckers, in the process.
The KBS2 political drama, "Assembly" rounded out the ratings report, recording 6 percent.
