Kristen Bell To Star In Remake Of 80s Cop Drama 'CHiPs'

Kristen Bell is all set to join the cast of a remake of 80s cop drama, "CHiPs." The show is directed by her husband Dax Shepard," reported TheWrap. Dax Shepard will also be starring in the same apart from directing the same. This multi-star comedy adaptation casts Adam Brody, Michael Pena Rosa Salazar along with Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard.

Vincent D'Onofrio will be a villain in this popular TV series adaption. "CHiPs" is all about two California highway patrol officers going through adventures while fighting crime, said Panarmenian.net. Shepard will be seen in the role of Officer Jon Baker, and Pena will be seen playing the part of Frank. "Ponch" Poncherello, is a role that Erik Estrada has designed. However, there is no clear description about Bell's role in the movie.

Bell's last movie "Frozen" was a mega hit, in which she was the leading lady in the movie. She also performed in the indie movie "The Lifeguard" apart from Warner Bros movie "Veronica Mars"next to a record-breaking crowdfunding campaign.

Shepard penned the script and is producing the series under his Primate Pictures banner operating together with Andrew Panay. Rick Rosner will also be serving as executive producer who is known to have created the NBC series that continued from 1977-1983. The project will be supervised by the Warner Bros. executive-duo Nik Mavinkurve and Jesse Ehrman. The movie will be launched in the U.S. In 2016, said AceShowbiz.com.

Bell has also been busy with her schedule while working on House of Lies that will go on air in April 2016 as its fifth season. Bell has also finished filming Universal's Melissa McCarthy comedy "The Boss" starring Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone.
