Ian Somerhalder And Nikki Reed Breaking Up Over Baby Plans?

Instead of bringing them closer together, Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's plan to start a family is allegedly creating a rift in their marriage.

Rumors claim that Ian Somerhalder is reportedly upset that Nikki Reed is not fully committed to their agreement to have a baby soon.

"They're arguing a lot. Nikki is ambitious and worries about derailing her career if she gets pregnant now," a source reportedly told OK! Magazine, as quoted by Celeb Dirty Laundry.

Some speculated that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed's different perspectives in having a baby may root from the difference in their age, and the level of fulfillment they've had in their respective careers.

Though Nikki has starred in box office hit "The Twilight Saga" movies, she is yet to score a main role in a movie or TV series that would identify her as a serious actress.

Ian Somerhalder on the other hand, may not want to prove much more. Making a name in the television industry with his hit television show, "The Vampire Diaries," Ian has established his acting career and has earned a huge fan base over the course of a few years.

"Ian is 9 years older than his new bride, and pushing 40 years old - it's no wonder that he is eager to settle down," CDL reported. "But, he and Nikki probably should have discussed their plans for the future before their wedding earlier this year."

"Ironically, rumor has it that babies were the same thing that caused Ian and Nina Dobrev's break-up as well," the report continued.

Ian has earlier talked about his eagerness to have a baby soon.

"It's the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something," Ian Somerhalder previously told Entertainment Tonight. "It's a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world -- but I really can't wait to do it and really just love it."

Some fans were surprised over "The Vampire Diaires" stars' sudden spontaneity about his baby plans. After all, he and Nikki Reed have been particular about protecting the privacy of their relationship.
